Government Legislation

Government departments are in the final process of reviewing a possible legislation to help radically reduce the number of computers, television and other e-waste equipment being dumped into landfill.

Key Stakeholders, including Infoactiv Group, the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA), Product Stewardship Australia (PSA) and the recycling community have put forward recommendations which outline the principles and methodologies needed for government to build into a proper regulatory regime.

These Stakeholders will be encouraging government to provide a framework that ensures all suppliers do the right thing for end-of-life product at point of disposal.

National Government legislation will mean all companies supplying electronic equipment will need to start taking responsibility and implement a GreenScaping e-waste strategy for all their electronic products.

Infoactiv has significant experience, technology and physical infrastructure as part of its GreenScaping division, that your organisation can instantly leverage in the establishment of an e-waste Management and Recycling strategy and its ongoing review, to meet government targets and requirements with minimum hassle to your company.
